Each of our staff members is designated as a Certified Anger Management Specialist-1 with NAMA. The premise of the books, DVDs, programs and courses demonstrate that anger – though often destructive – is a normal emotion and energy which can be transformed into productive behaviors achieving healthy personal and relationship goals.

However, getting enrolled in an Anger Management program can be very helpful in learning about anger and ways to effectively manage personal anger. We offer resources and anger management services for individuals, couples, teens and corporations.

Play Therapy For Children
We offer play therapy for children ages 3-12 in a well equipped play therapy room. Play is child’s most basic and natural way of self expression. Often times, children will tell you what you want to know, but they use toys, not just words. As a trained play therapist, Avian can work with children to bridge gaps, explore trauma, fears, and dreams and help children in their journey to healing.
Her work and areas of expertise with children include ADHD, anxiety, depression, anger management, impulsive behaviors, coping skills, divorce, oppositional defiance, self esteem, self harming, grief, abuse (sexual, physical, emotional), autism spectrum etc.
Avian believes that everything and everyone that has been broken can be healed. Healing requires a partnership where there is unconditional positive regard from the therapist who uses a client-centered approach. We have the unique ability to provide these two ingredients to make the journey to healing possible.
From a systematic standpoint, when a family member experiences pain, the entire family is affected by and feels that pain as well. At Reid Professional Counseling Center we get the whole family involved in the therapeutic process. Strong people make strong families and strong families make strong communities.
TF-CBT is a conjoint child and parent psychotherapy approach for children and adolescents who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events. TF-CBT has proven to be effective in addressing posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, externalizing behaviors, sexualized behaviors, feelings of
shame, and mistrust. The parental component increases the positive effects for children by reducing parents’ own levels of depression and emotional distress about their children’s abuse and improving parenting practices and support of their child.
